Extensive Experience As Family Law, Divorce And Business Law Attorneys
Biography
Matthew Pappalardo is a New York matrimonial and family law attorney who represents clients in divorce, custody, support, and family offense matters throughout New York State. Having worked both inside the judicial system and in the courtroom, he provides clients with a unique perspective on how family law disputes are evaluated, litigated, and resolved. He uses that insight to help clients understand their options, make informed decisions, and develop strategies tailored to their goals and circumstances. Moreover he understands that clients are often navigating one of the most difficult periods of their lives and believes they deserve not only strong representation, but clear guidance and a strategy designed to help them move forward.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Pappalardo served in the chambers of the Honorable Lawrence H. Ecker, J.S.C., where he assisted the Court in drafting judicial decisions and orders. Following Judge Ecker's retirement, he served in the chambers of the Honorable Esther Morgenstern in Kings County's Integrated Domestic Violence Court. Through his service in both courts, he gained a rare behind-the-scenes understanding of how judges assess evidence, evaluate credibility, and decide complex family law matters.
Mr. Pappalardo's commitment to family law began even earlier through his work with the Wyoming Supreme Court, where he helped establish and maintain a legal self-help center for individuals unable to afford legal representation. Working closely with self-represented litigants, he witnessed firsthand the uncertainty and stress that often accompany legal disputes. That experience shaped his belief that every person deserves clear guidance, meaningful advocacy, and a genuine opportunity to be heard.
Mr. Pappalardo earned his Juris Doctor from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University through its accelerated program and was named to the Dean's List. He passed the New York State Bar Examination on his first attempt.
At its core, family law is about people—not just legal issues. Behind every custody dispute, divorce, or support proceeding is a family facing uncertainty about what comes next. Having worked both inside the judicial system and in the courtroom, Mr. Pappalardo provides clients with a unique understanding of how family law disputes are evaluated and resolved. He uses that insight to help clients understand their options, make informed decisions, and develop strategies tailored to their goals and circumstances. Whether advocating across the negotiating table or before a judge, Mr. Pappalardo is guided by a simple purpose: to help clients move through difficult circumstances, protect what matters most, and create a path toward a better tomorrow.
